Why do people open my cold emails but never reply?

Because in Singapore the reply is not the first step. The open sends the buyer to check your website and LinkedIn, and they decide there, in silence. If what they find is thin or generic, they do not reply. Fix what they find before you rewrite the email again.

How many times should I follow up?

More than the once or twice most people manage, and less than a daily pester. A small number of spaced touches, each with a genuine reason to reply, is the shape that works. Replies cluster on later touches, so stopping early throws away the exact replies you were about to earn.

How fast do I really need to respond to an interested lead?

Same day, ideally same hour. The interested reply is warm for hours, not days. A two-day gap is where most booked meetings leak out, because the buyer moves on or loses the thread while you are busy with delivery.

Is cold email even legal in Singapore?

Yes for B2B, within limits. The Spam Control Act asks for honest sender identity and a working unsubscribe on bulk email, and the Do Not Call rules and PDPA cover calls and texts to local numbers. This describes what compliant looks like and is not legal advice.

Should I just send more emails to fix low replies?

No. In a small market, more of the same generic blast builds a reputation as a spammer and burns your name. Fewer, sharper, obviously-for-this-company messages beat volume every time. If you take one thing from this, make it the follow-up. Most replies you are missing are sitting one unsent email away, so start by letting a system carry the follow-up you keep meaning to send.
